Well it's here! No, not Moving-In day, Christmas! Moving-In day will be a few months yet.

Things @new_oldfarmhouse are progressing nicely. Internal plastering took the best part of November. So while that was ongoing we concentrated on making the final decisions on flooring and kitchen colours and by the end of the month we had purchased most of the hard flooring. Tiles for bathrooms and utility areas and a fantastic laminate for the kitchen, hall and living areas.

Internal plastering was finished and starting to dry out nicely by the end of November... it's amazing how much bigger rooms look with plastered walls.

It was time now to meet the plumber to go over the details for the first fix. Due to the flexibility my workplace allows it’s usually me to meet the trades onsite... they usually are surprised it's the woman there to see them.

With plumbing at the forefront of my mind I really needed to get some projects of my own on the go. The vanity units for two of the bathrooms will be customized cabinets and I needed to get the necessary adjustments made to accommodate the plumbing. Thankfully I have a very talented Joiner for a brother, keep an eye on Instagram for the finished product.

Early December it was time to make our third draw down on our mortgage and as it was for the other two draw downs this was a completely painless process. The quickest yet in fact, emailed the solicitor Friday, had the cheque by the following Thursday.

Last and final construction stage - finished floor.

Insulation was put down during the first week of December, allowing the plumber to install the Under Floor Heating pipework. All in time for the liquid floor screed to go down this morning. The house is all locked up so the Christmas break will allow plenty of drying time before the fun starts in the New Year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the @new_oldfarmhouse. We are very excited for 2020!
