Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI, Northern Ireland’s only charity dedicated to fighting Blood Cancers, has been awarded £5,000 as a charitable donation from the staff of Progressive Building Society’s Head Office.
The charity was nominated for financial support by Progressive staff and the money will be used to support the infrastructure, students and scientists at the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology in Queens University Belfast and the Belfast City Hospital.
Darina Armstrong Progressive’s Chief Executive, is delighted to be supporting the work of Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI “Every day in Northern Ireland 3 people are diagnosed with blood cancer and Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI are working tirelessly to continue lifesaving research into the condition. At Progressive we are very proud to be supporting such a worthy cause.”
Progressive staff have been actively involved with fundraising and have participated in several activities throughout the year to help raise much needed funds for the charity.
Darina outlined Progressive’s local charity pledge and its support of Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI, she said, “At Progressive we are committed to playing a key role in fundraising for local charities such as Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI in our communities. This year we are supporting 14 charities and by the end of the year will have donated a minimum of £70,000 to these charities…”
