Bank of England Base Rate Change 3rd August 2023
On Thursday 3rd August 2023, the Bank of England announced a 0.25% increase in its base rate from 5% to 5.25%.
An announcement made by the chancellor on the 26th June 2023 confirmed the introduction of a set of standards designed to provide relief for borrowers dealing with higher interest rates and a higher cost of living, called the Mortgage Charter.
