Direct Debit

The easiest and most convenient way for you to make your monthly mortgage payment is to set up a Direct Debit, which will automatically collect your mortgage payment each month from your bank account.  If the monthly payment changes, we will automatically collect the new payment amount and you don’t need to inform your bank.

If you would like to set up a Direct Debit, you can print the Direct Debit form here and return this to your local Progressive Branch.  Please also provide a recent bank statement for the account from which you wish to make payments.

Standing Order

You can also set up a Standing Order with your own bank, to send funds to our bank account each month.  Our bank details are as follows:

Bank Name Progressive Building Society
Address 33-37 Wellington Place, Belfast BT1 6HH
Bank Account Number 60538426
Sort Code 237448
Your Mortgage Account Number This is your Progressive Mortgage Account Number which can be found on your mortgage statement

You must include your Progressive Mortgage Account Number to help us identify your payment, otherwise we may return the funds to your bank.  Please ensure that you set up your Standing Order to make your mortgage payment, each month on the due date of your payment.  If your monthly payment changes, you must inform your bank of the new payment.

Faster Payment

You can make a monthly payment by faster payment, by using the same bank details as shown above, under ‘Standing Order’.  You must include your Progressive Mortgage Account Number to help us identify your payment, otherwise we may return the funds to your bank.  However, we do recommend you set up a Direct Debit or Standing Order to make regular monthly payments.

Debit Card

We can accept debit card payments, where you have missed a monthly payment and you wish to make up a payment which was due.  However, we recommend you set up a Direct Debit or Standing Order to make regular monthly payments on the due date.  If you wish to make a payment by debit card, please contact our Mortgage Support Team on 028 9082 1853.

Can I make an overpayment (sometimes known as a capital payment) on my mortgage?

Yes. Overpayments of up to 10% of the balance outstanding can be made each year, starting from the date of original mortgage completion, or the start date of your latest interest rate deal using the balance outstanding, without incurring an early repayment charge.

If you do make an overpayment, then the amount you owe and the interest you are charged will reduce from the date the overpayment is credited to your account.

Overpayments of more than 10% of the balance outstanding, or full mortgage repayment, will incur the Early Repayment Charge.

What is the minimum overpayment/capital payment I can make?

The minimum overpayment/capital payment is £500. Please ensure you state clearly that this is a capital payment to ensure it is recorded on your account.

You can send capital repayments to our bank account, details are as follows:
