Progressive Newtownards gets behind C.R.Y

23 March, 2015

A charity which supports young people diagnosed with potentially life threatening cardiac conditions is set to receive a boost this Easter as staff from Progressive Building Society branch in Newtownards have been knitting and selling Easter chicks for £1.50 with all profits going to the charity.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which promotes and develops heart screening programmes has also been awarded £5,000 as a charitable donation from Progressive Building Society’s Newtownards branch and will remain their nominated charity throughout 2015.

The charity was nominated for financial support by Progressive staff and the money will be used by the charity to provide a range of support services and will help fund vital medical research.

Lyn Crawford Manager of Progressive Newtownards is delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause, “At Progressive, we are actively involved in all the communities we serve and our staff are committed to supporting our charity work. We are proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause and we are delighted with the response to this quirky fundraising initiative.”
